Have I mentioned lately that I am going to be the matron of honor in my best friend Amanda's wedding? And she is coming to visit me this weekend? If not, now you know. We go pretty far back, to fifth grade, Mr. Pitts class. She was the new girl. And my poor (money poor, not pity poor), dorky self, stereotyped her and I immediately didn't like her because she was cute and had nice clothes. I became best friends with the other new girl, who also happened to be friends with Amanda, which led to us becoming good friends pretty quick. So, fast forward fifteen years and we are still talking weekly and now I get to help her in all of her wedding chaos. It wont be until spring of 2012, but that's good so I can save up for a trip or two home to help out.
This was Easter time 2002 I believe.
And this was at my going away party, right after I got married and I was moving to California.
Amanda is a true best friend. Someone who I would, at 25, sleep next to in bed and talk, laugh, and cry all night long. She's been there for me through thick and thin, and we have been through a lot together. I can't wait for her to get here on Saturday, I have already been losing sleep over it!
So, if you don't hear from me much next week, this is why. :)

How wonderful for you! I've also known my bestest friend for 19 years and our relationship is exactly what you just described! I'm going to visit her in March. Hope you two have a blast :)
Ah, those friends are the best:)
My best friend and I met through a mutual friend...and we live 6 hrs away from each other so we've seen each other less than 10 times in our 10 years of friendship.
Have a lovely time!!
Oh Jessica, have a wonderful, wonderful visit with your dear friend and savor every single moment! My lifelong closest friend passed away in August, and even after almost 40 years as best friends we totally loved snuggling up in bed to talk, laugh and cry all night long too. I miss her sooooooo much and would give anything for another night like that, but consider myself so fortunate to have had such a friend for so long (wish it were longer though).
